Love a cracker but don't love the plastic packaging that comes along with it? Enjoy these amazing vegan crackers without the plastic guilt! Pop down to your favourite refill store for most of the ingredients and get your herbs from your garden or local green grocer! We love making a big batch of these and storing them away for the week (if they last that long!)
Ingredients
2 cups plain flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
2/3 cup mixed sesame seeds
2 tbsp flaxseed meal
5 tbsp oil
150ml cold water
Flour for rolling
Flaky sea salt
Method:
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius and line a large baking tray with un-baking paper. Set aside.
Combine the flour, baking powder, garlic salt, cumin, fresh rosemary, flaxseed meal in a large bowl and mix.
Make a well in the center and add all of the oil and 4 tbsp of the cold water. Start mixing and if it's too dry add water where you see fit.
The dough should be not too wet but not too dry. Sprinkle a little bit of flour on a clean bench and roll out the dough using a rolling pin.
Roll until the dough is 3mm in thickness and cut into squares - these don't need to be perfect. You can do these in whatever shapes you want! Add to the baking tray.
Sprinkle a little bit of flaky sea salt on top and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Store in an airtight container or jar! Serve with hummus or your favourite dip.
